With all the holiday parties and dinners currently happening, I thought I would include a gift guide for the hostess. It’s always generous to gift a little something to the host/hostess to show gratitude for their hospitality and effort. Here are some cute and affordable items that will make a sweet gesture.
- Oven Mitt Set
Functional and festive! This Kate Spade 3-piece set made the top of the list. The set includes a kitchen towel, oven mitt and a pot holder, each designed with a scripted holiday messages… “a merry merry merry christmas”, “holly jolly”, and “deck the halls”. - Natural Scented Soy Candles
Candles make a home so warm and cozy during the holidays. These candles are made with 100% natural, non-GMO soy and 100% lead-free cotton wicks, hand-poured into reusable 8oz. glass jars with lids. They come in a variety of scents including sandlewood rose and warm vanilla. You can also find them in 11oz. rock glass jars. - Napkin Rings
Napkin rings can dress up any tablescape. These simple gold-toned hollow leaf design rings can be used year round for any occasion. These come in a set of 12 and are a great gift for someone who frequently entertains at home or hosts holiday dinners. - Cheese Board & Knife Set
This cheese board and knife set is another great gift for the home entertainer. This is such an attractive item with the mix of marble, natural wood and gold. It is a generous size (15″ W x 11.5″ L) for making a cheese and cracker or charcuterie board. - ‘The Year of Cozy: 125 Recipes, Crafts, and Other Homemade Adventures’ by Adrianna Adarme
Adrianna Adarme, author of the A Cozy Kitchen blog, offers inspiration and ideas for crafts, activities, and DIY projects, as well as easy to follow recipes to enjoy throughout the year (I love that it is organized by months of the year). This book is the perfect gift for the homebody or crafter. - L’Occitane Shower Gel/Hand Soap/Lotion Gift Set
This L’Occitane mini gift set includes cherry blossom scented Bath Flower & Shower Gel (1.1 fl.oz.), Hand Cream (.35 oz.), and Shimmering Lotion (1.1 fl.oz.). They all come packaged inside a cute bauble ornament. This set would also make a great stocking stuffer! - Bar Soap & Dish Set
Gift the scent of the holidays with this Frasier fir scented bar soap. It is conveniently packaged with a ceramic dish, perfect for gifting. As a hostess, I would display this set in a guest bathroom or use in a powder room for holiday parties. - Giving Plate
I love the idea of a giving plate. The concept is to fill a plate with goodies and gift to someone; they, in turn, do the same and the plate continues to be passed on. There are quite a few giving plate designs online, some with poems and sayings. I like the simple design of this “share” giving plate. It comes with a cute burlap ribbon and a sentimental note with instructions. Fill it up with some homemade baked goods and pass it on to your hostess! - Stationary Kit
Note cards and stationary are always good to have on hand at home. This fun set includes so many goodies including sticky notes, note cards, mini note cards, a stationary set, a mini journal, writing materials, and even a cute faux leather mouse pad. - Pillar Candle Holders
These distressed ceramic pillar candle holders are neutral and versatile. Available in two sizes (4″ Dia x 8″ H and 5″ Dia x 10.25″ H), they make great gift items that can be used to dress up any area of a home, such as on a mantle, shelf, or end table, or used in a tablescape. - Recipe Box
Although everything today has gone digital and recipes can easily be accessed online (or stored in a digital format). I think there is something warm and sentimental about having a keepsake box of printed or handwritten recipes to share and pass down to family over the years. This Martha Stewart collection recipe box has a classic and sweet design. If you want a more modern design, check out these Kate Spade recipe boxes here and here. - Marble Coaster Set
These coasters are another neutral find that will blend with various décor schemes. A hostess can never have too many coasters especially for entertaining at home. - Hot Cocoa Gift Set
A warm beverage mix is the perfect gift for this time of the year. I am a self-proclaimed hot cocoa junkie in the winter, so I had to include this Hot Cocoa Four-Jar Gift Set from The Spice House. The set includes four different hot cocoa flavors (including their original mix), as well as nutmeg, Turkish bay leaves and Korintje cinnamon sticks. So yummy! - Holiday Dish Towel Set
The simple colors and design of these woven cotton dishtowels can add a subtle touch of the holidays to any kitchen.
