“Once in a lifetime you meet someone who changes everything.” – Anonymous

When preparing for an engagement shoot, I recommend to first figure out the overall look or theme you want, and find a photographer who shares your vision. I wanted our engagement photos to be classic and romantic, taken outside surrounded by nature. Our wedding photographer picked a park that would provide the ideal setting. We were lucky that the weather was on our side the day of our shoot – it was the perfect warm and sunny Saturday afternoon.

We had so much fun during our session! Our photographer is so wonderful to work with. I think it’s important to have synergy with a photographer especially for such a special event. She gave us some direction for angles and poses at the start of the shoot and the rest of the time we were just being ourselves… laughing, flirting, and having cute moments. I love that she was able to capture these sweet and candid moments and I’m so happy with how the photographs came out. I love her work and her artistic approach.

I was on the hunt for a dress that was feminine and flowy to create the romantic look I had in mind. I found this chiffon maxi dress from Lulu’s. It comes in six different colors, as well as a floral pattern. I selected the blush pink for a softer look. I love the classic style of this dress with the shear long sleeves and cuff detail. Also, the front slit adds a flirty flare. (The dress runs a little large so I recommend ordering a size down.)

My ankle strap heels are also by Lulu’s. These are such a great deal (under $30!). I’m so happy I purchased them. Besides the fact that they are extremely comfortable, they are so versatile. Nude can be worn with so many colorways and the heel height is appropriate for many occasions. I can’t wait to pair them with jeans, dress pants and dresses this season.
